The Nicholas G. Xiarhos Memorial Foundation and all the supporters of Big Nick's Ride are extremely proud of this unique program. The NGX Fund will cover the full cost of a year round off-road beach permit for Sandy Neck to veterans and Gold Star families in the process of healing at the Vet Counseling Center in Hyannis, MA. Sandy Neck is a place to heal through all the activities the beach provides, including fishing, hiking, campfires and more. In the words of Yarmouth Deputy Police Chief Steven Xiarhos (ret.), Big Nick's father, “Twenty-two veterans a day who made it home commit suicide every day in America and that bothers us. In Nick’s memory for all veterans we thought Sandy Neck Beach is a place to heal.”
